Terms of Use

Last updated: 5 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the RightLeftAndCenter Chrome extension and the online service it uses (together, “RLC”), provided by the individual who operates RightLeftAndCenter (“we”). By installing or using RLC you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You sign in with a Google account and are responsible for activity under your account. You must have your own lawful access to any publication you use RLC with. RightLeftAndCenter is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

3. Licence to use RLC

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use RLC for your own reading, in line with these terms.

4. Acceptable use

  • Do not use RLC to extract, scrape, store or redistribute publishers’ content.
  • Do not interfere with, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or try to get around its limits.
  • Do not use RLC to break the law or a publication’s terms.

5. The extension and third-party websites

RLC works alongside publications we do not control. Articles and comments belong to their publishers and authors. RLC reads an article only when you choose to analyse it, and only on supported publications; a publication’s own terms continue to apply to your use of it.

6. Your questions

You keep any rights you have in the questions you ask. You allow us to process them to give you answers and to keep them in your History, as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. AI-generated outputs and their limits

Briefs, discussion insights and answers are generated automatically using AI. They can be incomplete or wrong, and they are not professional advice. RLC does not verify facts, rate truth or score political positions. Read the original article and discussion before relying on anything RLC shows you. Discussion insights are paraphrased and are for your personal use.

8. Intellectual property

RLC, its software, design and name are ours or our licensors’. These terms do not give you any rights in them beyond the licence above. Publishers’ content remains theirs.

9. Third-party services

RLC relies on services provided by others, including Google for sign-in and an AI provider for analysis, as listed in the Privacy Policy. Their availability is not within our control.

10. Availability and changes

RLC is under active development. Features may change, publications may be added or removed, and the service may sometimes be unavailable.

11. Suspension and termination

You can stop using RLC at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

12. Disclaimers and liability

RLC is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties about it and are not liable for losses that arise from using it or relying on what it shows. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. This does not take away any mandatory consumer protections you have under the law of the country where you live.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the extension. Continuing to use RLC after an update means you accept the new terms.
